Charlie Koehn
Founder & Managing Director of Water Street Financial, Charlie founded Water Street Financial in Milwaukee to provide independent, holistic, and client-focused advice. He has over 20 years of experience in the investment business. Charlie saw an opportunity to leverage technology to work with leading asset custodians and service providers. His long experience with global institutional investors assists in providing thoughtful planning and investment solutions.
ASN is an Atlanta-based Registered Investment Adviser (RIA) which registered with the U.S. Securities and Exchange Commission in 2010. As of January, 2022, ASN has 74 offices and serves clients in 35 states with >$5 Billion in Assets Under Management.
As Water Street's Managing Director, Charlie works with clients to develop customized investment strategies and integrates them within a client’s broader portfolio architecture. Prior to Founding Water Street, he was an Investment Advisor at Morgan Stanley; managing portfolios for High Net Worth Clients as part of a multi-billion dollar advisory team. Before this, he was a Senior Vice President of Trading and Research at Prudential Financial in Chicago & HSBC Securities in New York City. Charlie began his career at The Chase Manhattan Bank advising institutions on Investment Strategy. Charlie earned a B.A. in History & Economics from The University of Arizona in Tucson and completed post graduate classes in Economics, Accounting and Business Law at The University of Chicago. He holds the Series 7, 3 and 66 Licenses and is an expert user of Bloomberg Professional.
Charlie lives in Fox Point with his wife and three children. He is a Supporter of Gigi's Down Syndrome Awareness Center in Fox Point. A member of Saint Christopher's Episcopal Church in River Hills & The University Club of Chicago. Charlie is an avid reader, enjoys parenting, mentoring, golf and cooking.
